MP backs biodiesel tax break project

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for companies who produce biodiesel.
Producers transforming cooking oil into biodiesel presently benefit from a 20p differential however that is due to end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George said "a variety of little organizations in Cornwall presently generate income from utilized cooking oil".
He added: "In order to be able to get this type of market going it does need just a little bit of lift which is available in the form of tax foregone."
Biodiesel is a blend of conventional diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
